Walters’ main character is a young woman named Noora who is framed by her jealous sister to appear a “sharmouta,†or a woman of ill reputation. When her father finds out, he is pressured by the radical religious order “Men of Faith, Honor and Justice†to kill her, removing the shame from his family.
