In this episode of Grantham University's "Ever Wonder" Series, we explore modern cultural curiosities and ask 'Who is the fastest rapper?' We ask this in our ultimate pursuit to answer, 'What can we learn from life in quick time?'
On the surface, the 'Rebel XD vs. Watsky' curated clips are entertaining. But when you consider the amazing ability to converse at supersonic speed, it becomes a true adventure beyond the sound barrier.
When it comes to human listening and speech, the average person can comfortably hear and speak at about 150 to 160 words per minute.
It is said that Auctioneers speak at about 250 words per minute, and nervous salespeople can jabber along at upwards of 350 words per minute. But in the world of rapid speech articulation, perhaps our modern day rappers are the fastest! Rebel XD holds the World Book of Guinness Record of 852 syllables rapped in 42.2 seconds.
When you study, do you fast talk yourself in answering questions? If so, are you risking retention? In application to student life, when content is passing you by in hyper speed, consider a detailed review at a speed that will allow you to grasp the important details from your studies.
Need to learn faster? Then consider the way that the human mind remembers things, is by organizing information in a way that makes it easier to recall. Start by organizing facts and information into interconnected ideas, thus making an interconnected web of relationships between information that'll be easy to remember when you need it. Basically you're linking ideas together to see the whole picture, instead of just its parts. This type of reflection can help you build a foundation of knowledge which is easier to recall when you need it!
