A Chinese firm the ZKZM fibre laser company, has developed a laser gun designed for police use that can set fire to protesters' hair or banners from a range of almost one kilometre. ZKZM has added that they were seeking a partner that has a production licence or a partner in the security industry or defence industry to start significant production.
The weapon is designed to do things such as setting fire to illegal banners used for a protest or setting fire to the hair or clothing of a protester. It is not designed explicitly for killing like a gun.
The 15-mm is the calibre of this gun and weighs three kilogrammes. It has a range of 800 metres and it is specially designed to pass through glass and other transparent obstacles. It can be mounted on cars, boats or aeroplanes too.
