http://odinwatch.com/ This is the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn incarnation of the famous Clash on the Big Bridge fight with Gilgamesh.
"Battle at the Big Bridge" is a popular theme due to being the leitmotif of the recurring character Gilgamesh, an installment-traveling mascot of the series, and has been remade into different versions for several of his cameo appearances. As such, it is a theme with many arrangements and remixes, only surpassed in number by prominent motifs of the series itself, such as the "Prelude", the "Opening Theme", the "Chocobo Theme" or the "Victory Fanfare".
Clash on the Big Bridge (Japanese : ビッグブリッヂã®æ»é—˜), also known as Battle with Gilgamesh or Battle at the Big Bridge, is one of the most popular audio tracks of the J-RPG series Final Fantasy. The song is also famous as the theme of Gilgamesh, one of the most popular and individual supporting characters/villains in the series.
This high-speed song with Progressive Rock taste is a popular subject of covers by numerous audio and instrumental remixes. The song has also been one of the standard music resources of MAD videos on the Japanese video sharing service Nico Nico Douga (NND) since about 2007.
Clash on the Big Bridge debuted in Final Fantasy V, which was released for Japanese Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1992. The song was originally written as the theme music for the Big Bridge, one of the stages in the second world in this game by the Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu. Both the song and Gilgamesh have been popular among the fans of the Final Fantasy series since its first debut.
Throughout the Final Fantasy series, Gilgamesh has made multiple reappearances and has to date made the most appearances of any character in the franchise. Unlike other recurring characters in the series, Gilgamesh has the same appearance and personality in nearly every game he appears in. Along with this his theme song has also returned multiple times, each time only slightly altered.
Gilgamesh (ギルガメッシュ, Girugamesshu) is a recurring character in the Final Fantasy series. Initially introduced as a villain, he has made a number of appearances in remakes and later titles. To date, Gilgamesh has had more appearances in any Final Fantasy media than any other character, and may be the only character to appear in more than one game in the main series. Gilgamesh began a tradition of an incompetent, comical, yet persistent recurring boss for the player to face.
Gilgamesh's role has varied greatly from ally, to enemy, to summon, but for most of his appearances he is a traveling sword collector who battles with a variety of rare and powerful weapons. In most, if not all, of his appearances, Gilgamesh is searching for the legendary sword, Excalibur. Another of Gilgamesh's trademarks is Genji Equipment, which can be stolen from or dropped by him.
