Went to early vote today and discovered a serious bug in the Votetronic Polling Machine. The machine would not let me vote for Rick Perry for Governor of Texas (yeah I know, I had to decide between the lesser of two evils and i figured Rick). When I select Rick it unselected all other candidates and selected all Green Party Candidates. Bug/Glitch or Hack?
I had to raise a stink and get put on another polling machine. Anyone else find anything like this with these machines?
Be aware of what is being selected when you use these machines, ask a polling person to switch machines if you run into issues.
Here is some more information, perhaps it will convice the thumb conspiracy people to reconsider:
The button cluster in the top left is the straight party vote options.
The button cluster below that is district 5 congress options
The 3rd cluster below that is governor options.
What is happening when I select Rick is that the select all green party candidates button in the upper left button cluster(several inches above my hand) is getting selected. This is why you see several options get selected at the same time, all those sections are green party candidates. It is not possible for me to reach that button with my thumb.
This is important, the green party button works fine, on the video you can see I was able to use the green party button to de-select all green party candidates. The other buttons on screen all worked as expected as well. You can see me select an option in the middle button cluster and it worked fine.
