http://www.kickstarter.com/pro... This is a Kickstarter project I want to let you all know about. Nolan Bushnell (founder of Atari and Chuck E Cheese) has a video on this project where he endorses this game from Amy Tucker, Sönny Spearman, Michel Gagne, Tyler Bielman and Bo Geddes.
Nolan Bushnell and Michael Williams, founders of Oomba, both appear in the video talking about the project and why it's something you should get behind.
About the game:
The cards in Xeko depict the animals and plants whose habitats are disappearing. Each card has a rule on it that affects game play. Cards are common, rare, endangered, and vanishing; mapping to each creature's real endangered species status. Special cards include Xeko artifacts, local culture, and random events that make each game unique.
The new Xeko will be for social networks and mobile platforms, making Xeko more interactive, more viral, and more available to the entire world—including the very hotspots that the endangered animals call home.
Originally crafted for players ages 8 -- 12, the new Xeko will be for older players. This allows us to be on FaceBook®, and to add geo-location and trading features to the mobile game. This connects Xeko to Agents around the world.
Xeko is a masterpiece of form and function: it is a beautifully rendered collectible trading card game inspired by Magic: the Gathering® and Pokemon®. It is also a fantastic demonstration of the power of play to enlighten minds and generate action.
Created by Amy Tucker, Xeko was originally published in 2006. Together with Sönny Spearman, they built a tremendous team in Seattle, including lead artist Michel Gagne, game designer, Tyler Bielman and art director, Bo Geddes.
