Tha Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger tells TMZ that a sequel to Straight Outta Compton is in development. Reportedly, the film will chronicle the rise of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Suge Knight, and Death Row Records—just as we predicted earlier this week.
According to Daz, none of the actors from Straight Outta Compton will reprise their roles. Dr. Dre's son, Curtis Young, 33, will likely play his father in place of Compton's Corey Hawkins. No other casting has been rumored or confirmed.
While Ice Cube won't be producing the yet-untitled Compton sequel, Daz says that Cube has given the project his blessing. Suge, on the other hand, has already voiced dissatisfaction with his portrayal in Compton, and he'll likely be even more displeased with his characterization in a story about the mayhem and internal terror that haunted Death Row Records from its founding in 1991 through 2Pac's death in 1996.
