"31 years ago, my parents Brad and Linda went on their first date. While holding hands walking on the Town Lake Trail in Austin, Texas, my dad saw a small moving rock. As they approached, he soon realized this was no rock, this was their new baby turtle Gunther. Months went by and as their love grew, so did baby Gunther. Years passed, and now 30+ years and two children later, Gunther still swims around his aquarium as his same happy self. Although this story is sweet and loving, little did I know this would turn out to be a family affair. Living in Lynchburg, Virginia, I found a beautiful blonde haired girl named Cara. To my surprise, she agreed to a date and we went paddle boarding. On that chilly Virginia afternoon, the turtle family tradition continued once more.
