Cities in Europe say a growing number of property developers are buying up residential apartments, to rent them to tourists on Airbnb.
The website started as a way for people to rent out their spare rooms. But several cities claim that with more professionals using the site, people are being forced from their homes.
Ten cities are now asking the EU to help them regulate this.
BBC Scotland’s the Nine went to Valencia, where 1 in 15 homes in the old town is now listed on Airbnb.
