Barcelona beat Real Madrid ahead of the upcoming season with a 3-2 victory at the Clasico friendly. The event was held at Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium in Florida.
The legendary rivals will meet again twice in August in the Spanish Super Cup. But this event set high expectations. Gerard Pique’s strike settled a historic rivalry.
Madrid was missing their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was still on holiday. But both teams performed strong. Ernesto Valverde selected Neymar despite rumours about his future with the club.
Just after three minutes, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi scored the first goal. Barcelona continued to dominate and Ivan Rakitic doubled their lead.
