Jason Beakes is one of the best extreme kayakers in the world. He competed for the US Olympic team, racing in controlled conditions, but his true love is getting out in the wild. For him, hurtling down a 70-foot stack of raging waterfalls is a test of not only his own reflexes, but a way to read the water and get as close as possible to its irresistible force.
His story is the second in a four-part documentary series Journey From The Source – presented by Finlandia Vodka and 1% For The Planet, created by Mikey DeTemple and Huck magazine, and hosted by National Geographic photographer and adventurer Cory Richards – which aims to uncover stories of people that have an extraordinary relationship with water.
