Skanda Mata is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. Skanda mata idol depicts four arms and rides a lion. She is also seen carrying a lotus, water material and a bell. Lord Skanda is seen on her lap. She possesses four arms out of which two often hold the lotus flowers. Skandamata the fourth avatar of Maa Durga who is has been known for demolishing the demons. Goddess Skand mata symbolizes the relationship between a mother with her son. It is said that by worshipping her, devotees get immense love, affection and their desires get fulfilled. Her worship automatically includes the worship of Lord Kartikeya who is on her lap.
