Welcome to the "Lars From Mars - Learning Videos for Toddlers". Throughout this educational episode you will know about Shark fish and this video for children is an excellent resource for learning.
Sharks are a group of elasmobranch fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. Modern sharks are classified within the clade Selachimorpha (or Selachii) and are the sister group to the rays. The Whale shark is the largest fish in the world; the basking shark is the second largest fish. There are many different species of sharks that range in size from the size of a person's hand to bigger than a bus. Fully-grown sharks range in size from 7 inches (18 cm) long (the Spined Pygmy shark), up to 50 feet (15 m) long (the Whale shark).
