A World War II veteran thwarted a home invasion when he pulled out his pistol and fired off a round. The alleged robber tried to get into Joe Milspa's home with an axe, and broke a window to climb into the house. When Milspa heard the glass shatter, he grabbed his 1911 .45-caliber handgun, and fired off a round to scare the robber. "I could have shot him right in the head between the eyes.
