A Wilson County man who has been fighting for years to clear his name after he was wrongly convicted of rape was not recommended for exoneration Tuesday afternoon. The decision was made after Lawrence McKinney was granted a hearing before the Tennessee Parole Board. All seven members of the board voted not to recommend exoneration. McKinney was found guilty of rape in 1978 and was sentenced to 100 years in prison and 10 to 15 years for burglary. He served 31 years before DNA evidence cleared him of the crime. He was released in 2009. Posted By Ghost
