When i try to install Windows OS on Unallocated space. Windows setup showing the warning 'Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The selected disk has the maximum number of partitions of this type'.
Solution: You can create up to four partitions on a basic disk using the MBR partition scheme: either four primary partitions or three primary and one extended partition.
The extended partition can contain one or more logical drives.
Here, i have reached the maximum primary partition limit for the Basic disk of MBR partition style. So, when i try to install OS on Unallocated space. It is showing the Windows setup error.
Conclusion: I can install Windows on any of the primary partitions, which has enough space. But i cannot choose Unallocated space, since it has reached primary partition limit.
Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 8.1: The selected disk has the maximum number of partitions of this type. Why ?
