A metallic foil may be heat pressed and stamped
onto any plastisol ink. When mixed with shimmer
ink, metallics give a mirror like effect wherever
the beforehand screened plastisol ink was applied.
Specialty inks are more expensive to purchase in
addition to screen and tend to appear on garments
in boutiques. In 1959, the invention of plastisol
offered an ink more sturdy and stretchable than
water-based ink, allowing rather more variety in
T-shirt designs. Very few corporations continue to
