Fewer people would return things to Amazon if their products were accurately rated. In this case, I bought a watch band for my Apple Watch. It had excellent reviews, so I thought I couldn't go wrong for $16. I was very wrong. The watch band was a heaping pile of garbage. I made a video review (approximately the first half of this video) and posted it with my text review on Amazon.com.
Going a bit deeper, I decided to search on Fakespot.com to see what I could find. As it turns out, they rank this product as having unusually high levels of deception in the reviews. They gave it a D grade. The selling company overall only has a C grade.
I am returning the watchband for being so lousy. I'm actually more perturbed by how easily their review system is gamed than I am with how bad the watch band was. Something needs to be done. This is not the first or last time a product like this has been artificially boosted on the rating system. As I said in the video, fake reviews dilute the brand value of Amazon...
