The Indian manufacturer took the wraps off the AMT avatar of its popular compact, the Nexon! Unfortunately, Tata has only showcased the Nexon AMT and not specified when it will be launched in the country.
The automated manual transmission is based on the same 6-speed manual gearbox (TA6300) that does duty under the bonnet of the Nexon. Much like other AMT Tatas, the Nexon also features the de rigueur creep mode. This means you do not have to feather the throttle to get going. Lifting off the brakes lets it crawl, which should be a boon in choc-a-bloc traffic.
Apart from showcasing jaw-dropping concepts such as the H5X SUV and the 45X hatchback, Tata Motors also showcased an accessory package for the Nexon at the Auto Expo 2018. The Aero package will not available with the popular ‘Moroccan Blue’ exterior colour. The packs will get a mix of plastic and chrome cladding on the front and rear bumpers.
