Snake Expert Mark O'Shea bitten by King Cobra! The deadly snake attacked and bit the man's leg during a routine feeding. Anti-venom was given to Mark right away.
Snake & Wildlife Expert Mark OShea is lucky to be alive after a huge 10 foot King Cobra sunk its fangs into his leg at Midlands Safari Park yesterday afternoon during a routine feeding.
The venom of a King Cobra is so strong that it can kill a full size adult elephant with one bite. The park's first aid staff rushed over to Mark and gave him the proper anti-venom but were concerned that the deadly poison had already entered his bloodstream. O'Shea was then airlifted to the hospital and where his condition is currently stable.
Mark O'Shea is best known for his show on the Discovery Channel called OShea's Big Adventure and his series on Channel 4 which is O'Shea's Dangerous Reptiles.
Mark was in good spirits as he chuckled at the incident and called it "just a nick" from what is the world's longest venomous snake. "It was just an accident" he said. "Sometimes there are accidents at people's work, but people tend to find these kind much more interesting"
King cobras can reach up to 18.5 feet in length and live mostly in the rain forest and plains of India, Southeast Asia and Southern China. They are cannibal reptiles that routinely eat other snakes. Their venom is so deadly it can kill up to 20 people.
